The Housing Vancouver Strategy

On November 29, 2017, Vancouver City City council adopted a new Housing Vancouver Strategy (pdf), whose goal is to create 72,000 new homes for renters, families and vulnerable residents over 10 years. It supersedes and “resets” Council’s 2012 10-year housing strategy (pdf), adopted in 2012, and is meant to address concerns over increased homelessness, low rental vacancy rates, rising residential property values and decreasing affordability.
